Why Take Part

Why Take Part

There are many benefits that you can gain from taking part in our programme. These include gaining an accredited Leadership award and receiving a professional mentor.

The benefits you will receive are partly determined by the number of programmes you complete. On joining the programme your Programme Manager will share more information on how to access each benefit, including:

Become part of the Team Up community

You’ll be working alongside a group of fellow role models at your school, and supporting one another at your weekly debriefs.

Gain an accredited qualification

Team Up tutors can work towards the Leadership Award, accredited by the SSAT, a leading organisation working to develop educational leadership and raise attainment levels in the UK.  In addition to completing the 12-week programme, to receive the qualification, tutors will need to:

  • Complete at least one leadership unit and/or attend a leadership seminar hosted by Team Up

  • Have a high level of attendance to your programme

  • Complete all weekly tasks as part of the programme

Get a mentor

The Team Up mentoring programme allows you to receive personalised advice from a mentor in a career sector of interest to you. Your mentor will work with you to devise a plan on how to best help: be it to set career goals, improve your UCAS or job application forms or practice your interview technique.

Gain a reference and a referee

As a Team Up tutor you can request a number of references from your Programme Manager. The programme stream you choose gives guidelines on how many times you can list TU as a referee. See here for more information about our reference policy.

Get your name in lights

Participants who complete our programme can be invited to provide a short case study for our social media platforms or focus groups to help shape the future of Team Up.

Travel expenses will be covered
